Lead Solutions Architect - Generative AI (EMEA Emerging DNB)

About the role

Databricks is hiring a Lead Solutions Architect specialized in Generative AI to support its EMEA Emerging Digital Natives and Startups unit. This is a hands-on, customer-facing individual contributor role helping fast-moving cloud-native companies take LLM use cases from idea to production.

What you'll do

• Act as the deep technical authority on GenAI, LLMs and applied machine learning for the most complex customer engagements in the region.
• Work with Solutions Architects, Solutions Engineers and Account teams to scope and de-risk use cases spanning RAG, agentic systems, fine-tuning and evaluation.
• Build proofs of concept and reference implementations on Databricks (Mosaic AI, MLflow, Model Serving, Vector Search, Unity Catalog).
• Lead model-customization work on open LLMs such as Llama-family models, including judge-based and label-efficient evaluation.
• Mentor and enable a ~70-person field engineering organization and represent Databricks externally through talks and blogs.

Requirements

• Strong command of the LLM landscape and the modern GenAI stack: RAG, agents, prompt and evaluation engineering, guardrails and safety.
• Solid ML/deep learning foundations including distributed training, GPU workloads and the full MLOps lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Python and the ML ecosystem (PyTorch/Transformers, MLflow, Spark).
• Experience with Databricks or ability to ramp quickly, plus AWS, Azure or GCP exposure.
• Excellent consultative communication, technical leadership and willingness to travel across Europe.
