Lead Solutions Architect - Generative AI (EMEA Emerging DNB)

About the role

Databricks is hiring a Lead Solutions Architect specialized in Generative AI to support its EMEA Emerging Digital Natives and Startups unit. This is a hands-on, customer-facing individual contributor role helping fast-growing cloud-native companies take LLM use cases from idea to production.

What you'll do

• Act as the technical authority on GenAI, LLMs and applied ML for the business unit's most complex customer engagements.
• Work with Solutions Architects, Solutions Engineers and Account teams to scope and de-risk use cases such as RAG, agentic systems, fine-tuning and evaluation.
• Build proofs of concept and reference implementations on Databricks (Mosaic AI, MLflow, Model Serving, Vector Search, Unity Catalog).
• Lead fine-tuning and customization projects on open LLMs, including evaluation approaches focused on quality and safety.
• Mentor the broader field engineering organization and represent Databricks publicly through talks and blogs.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of the modern GenAI stack: LLM application patterns, prompt and evaluation engineering, guardrails and safety.
• Strong ML/deep learning foundations: distributed training, GPU workloads and the full MLOps lifecycle.
• Proficiency in Python with PyTorch/Transformers, MLflow and Spark; cloud experience on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Experience with Databricks or ability to ramp quickly; excellent consultative communication skills.
• Track record of technical leadership and mentorship; willingness to travel across EMEA.
