Staff AI Software Engineer

About the role

Kueski is hiring a Staff AI Software Engineer for its AI Enabling Team, focused on building the tooling, workflows and guardrails that let Engineering and Product teams use AI agents at scale. The role is remote, based around Guadalajara, Mexico.

What you'll do

• Evolve existing services, data platforms and pipelines so AI agents and models can operate on them safely, deciding what to wrap, refactor, expose or retire.
• Own the retrieval, memory and knowledge-representation layer that makes code, data, business logic and docs usable by LLMs.
• Redefine the development lifecycle (specs, code, review, testing, deployment) around agentic engineering workflows, setting standards and tooling.
• Ship agentic systems and take at least one high-stakes AI capability to production, proving impact with data.
• Establish eval harnesses, observability and safety/compliance guardrails for a regulated lending context (PII, model risk, auditability).

Requirements

• 10+ years building software, including several years designing and shipping production ML/AI systems at scale.
• Experience launching AI products and a point of view on making legacy organizations AI-native.
• Staff+ level technical influence across multiple teams and comfort with ambiguous decisions.
• Sound judgment across build/buy/fine-tune/prompt trade-offs with attention to cost and outcomes.
• Clear communication with engineers, PMs and risk/compliance stakeholders.
