Staff Solutions Architect, AI Subject Matter Expert

About the role

GitLab is hiring a Staff Solutions Architect to act as a Subject Matter Expert for one product group, serving as the deepest technical voice in the field on the company's largest and most complex opportunities. Specializations include Security & Compliance, Platform, Core DevSecOps, or AI Competitive (GitLab Duo Agent Platform, agentic workflows, AI-native development).

What you'll do

• Serve as technical authority on prioritized deals, from discovery and architecture to trials and Proof of Value evaluations
• Lead deep dives, workshops, and executive briefings linking product capabilities to business outcomes and competitive differentiation
• Design repeatable PoV templates, demos, battlecards, reference architectures, and enablement content
• Act as escalation point for Account and Post-Sales Solutions Architects, staying engaged through first production workload
• Channel structured field and competitive feedback to Product Management and Engineering, and mentor the SA community

Requirements

• Significant experience in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, consulting, or software engineering with deep expertise in one domain
• Practical knowledge of agentic and AI-assisted development workflows in customer-facing settings
• Track record winning technical decisions in large enterprise PoC/PoV cycles with executive sign-off
• Hands-on with Git, CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, and a major cloud provider
• Strong written communication and comfort with async, cross-time-zone collaboration
