Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About the role

Nubank is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Bogotá to build models that shape credit, fraud, risk, marketing and AI-native customer experiences at scale. The role covers the full modeling lifecycle, with growing involvement in Generative AI and agentic systems.

What you'll do

• Contribute to Nu Colombia's strategy by building forecasting models and models that guide marketing investment decisions
• Turn ambiguous business questions into well-defined modeling problems
• Design, train and validate models with statistical rigor and clear business value
• Build and maintain features and datasets for training and inference
• Deploy and monitor models in batch and real-time, leading projects end-to-end

Requirements

• Solid grounding in statistics and machine learning theory (regression, tree-based models, deep learning)
• Python plus ML libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow or XGBoost
• Experience training, tuning and evaluating models, and with the full ML lifecycle through deployment and monitoring
• Efficient SQL and comfort with analytical data environments
• Strong communication with technical and business stakeholders

Nice to have: cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure), MLOps tooling (MLflow, Feast, Airflow), data architecture patterns and BI tools. Hybrid model: 2-3 days per week in the office.
